The other day I asked Hailey how she was feeling about Mexico. She replied… “So-so. I am excited but also scared, so that makes it so-so.” As we talked, I learned that she is very excited to meet new friends and live in a new house. But she is scared because she has heard there are fireworks there.
As we were going through the play room and picking out some toys to take with us, the girls were putting together some “My Little Pony” bags to take. Hailey said, “Mom, I have a great idea. When we get to Mexico, maybe Lydia and I can find 2 or 3 girls and we can ask them if they want to play with us. We can set out a blanket on the ground, dump out all our ponies and teach them how to play with My Little Ponies. Then we can become friends with them.” What a heart for people my sweet girl has! I have so much to learn from her! She is really going to teach me how to build friendships with the people of Ometepec.
